For the 2024 Christmas window displays, la Samaritaine selected a few artists to create imaginary flowers based on different textile themes. From the tartan pattern, Juliette Berthonneau imagined Pensiflora mobilea for her Winter Garden.

Each flower is designed as a mobile textile sculpture. Its structure is an assembly of thin, curved metal rods and small rings. Textile petals are colored, then hand-pleated by a craftsman. The folds structure the fabric, like the veins of a petal. Stripes give rhythm and shape to the flowers.

With transparency and layering, stripes provide a subtle tartan pattern. Each flower is unique. Combined in room, they form a giant bouquet in movement.
